Last spring one of my cohort-mates did a special presentation on children and their emotional lives. In the course of her presentation, she shared with us this video, which I found exceptionally moving. Part of a longer documentary, this video gives us a window into an extraordinary Japanese fourth grade classroom. The teacher has a created a truly compassionate classroom, in which the children share their deepest feelings, and, in doing so, know each other and themselves as never before.
